What is The Organization Radar
Organization radar is included in the Communication section because it has to do with interaction between individuals in small settings.
Actually, the word radar is an acronym for RAdio Detecting And Ranging.
In the television series M.A.S.H. there was one character named Radar. Radar was the local “psychic”; he knew in advance what was coming down. He developed this skill well.
We are referring to the skill and ability to interpret attitudes, feelings, and reactions in face to face communication.
Why is this important?
Most communication occurs in small meetings. The skill of understanding what’s behind verbal and non verbal communications helps the organization march towards its objectives. (Think business meetings, vendor meetings, boss-employee meetings, etc.)
Advice: Develop this skill. Be more attuned with your surroundings.
