Personal Improvement Elements

The Elements in Personal Improvement

Personal improvements’ most significant elements are listed below. Almost all of us want to improve and grow. Here are the factors for success:

1. Knowledge. This is what the person already knows. Many times a knowledgeable person will contribute to better ways of doing things and improved operation. This is also what the person learns. As the person becomes more knowledgeable, his value to the company (or society) grows.

2. Attitude. “Attitude is Altitude” I’ve heard that many times from the CEO of the organization I worked for. It’s a catchy phrase, it is a good one, and it is true. Your attitude will determine whether you are down in the dumps or on top of the world. Your attitude has an enormous impact on your productivity.

3. Skills. The skill set you bring into the job determine in many respects the success of the tasks you are responsible for. For example, if you own a restaurant, you better know how to cook, because if your chef is sick and unable to work, you need to fill in.

4. Habits. Your habits also determine your successful personal improvement. This is not to say that you habitually set time to read and learn, but it points out how orderly you are when you do. The new way must become a habit in the push for better results.

In the pursuit for personal improvement, which is defined as improving operating results there are two unforeseen elements which may affect your goal. These are people and the environment. You have no or very little control over them.
